The John Bloom Law Bursary was established in memory of John Bloom, a local solicitor and a Trustee of the Foundation. He was passionate about his chosen profession and also about the area in which he was born and worked. His widow Hannah (Nan), set up the Bursary in memory of John with the aim of providing financial assistance to students who have chosen to follow a career in Law.
The Bursary supports Teesside residents intending to study for a full time undergraduate degree in Law at a UK University. The successful candidate for the bursary will be expected to obtain good 'A' level grades and will be from a background of modest means. A bursary of £6,000 (over 3 years) will be awarded to a student who might otherwise struggle to find the necessary funding to pursue their chosen career.
