The Gillham Charitable Fund

Tony graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1964. During his career in Teesside he became one of the first industrialists to get seriously involved in community support and development, notably as Chair of Safe in Tees Valley, a position he still holds, and Chair of Tees Valley Community Foundation from 1996.

Tony and his wife Sheila live in North Yorkshire where, through their own charitable Trust, they are keen supporters of the community and culture - especially classical music, both being long term patrons of the Ryedale Classical Music Festival.

Tony and Sheila have built a named endowment fund within Tees Valley Community Foundation as a way of supporting the community in which they spent most of their working lives, and they are keen to help groups who work to address social deprivation, support young people to achieve in education and to become the next generation of leaders in their community and working lives.
